Andrew Garfield has revealed that he went celibate and fasted for several months to prepare for his role as a Jesuit priest in the 2016 film “Silence.” The Spider-Man star said he studied Catholicism with a Jesuit priest, went on a 31-day spiritual retreat and gave up “sex and food” before filming the movie. “You end up in a pretty deep space,” Garfield said. “It’s a transformational process.” “I was celibate for six months … and fasting a lot,” he added. “I had some pretty wild, trippy experiences from starving myself of sex and food for that period of time.”

Building collapse in Abuja

Rescue operations has begin in one collapsed building at Kubwa area of Abuja Nigerian Capital. Reports has it that the three storey building was still under construction before the the sudden collapse occur. BBC Pidgin Report that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the incident saying that one man survived as the rescue operations is still ongoing.

Inibehe Effiong, released from Prison

Inibehe Effiong, released from Prison -    Activist Inibehe Effiong a  Human Rights Activist and Lawyer have been released from Prison after serving a 30 days sentence for contempt of Court. He was sentenced to 30 days in Prison by the Akwa Ibom State Chief judge for alleged Contempt after an altercation during a sitting in the state.

A middle-aged man caught with plantain thief nabbed in Yenagoa

  A middle-aged man was allegedly caught stealing plantain at Agbura community in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.    According to Bayelsa Specials, the suspect who hails from Famgbe community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was nabbed on Thursday, August 25.
